About TIPU
The Takete-Ide Progressive Union (TIPU) is the community’s union organisation, uniting indigenes around the shared motto of Faith, Unity and Progress. TIPU operates alongside — and distinctly from — the traditional institution, coordinating union-led projects, branch activity and community reporting.

Meets monthly in Kogi State's capital, keeping Takete-Ide people in Lokoja connected to one another and to home.
TIPU Ilorin Branch
Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria
Host of the branch New Yam Festival — a day of culture, fellowship and recognition of service to the union.
TIPU UK & Europe Chapter
United Kingdom & Europe
Inaugurated in August 2026 to strengthen diaspora participation, community connection and support for development at home.
